Child custody/visitation..no money to hire attorney?

OK, my son lives w my "mother" and her husband in GA. There is NO court ordered custody. However, I am ordered to pay support b/c they got on wellfare. Even though I pay supprt I have no rights with my son. My husband, youngest son and I live in Fort Knox, KY. I asked my mother if we could come get my son for two weeks and bring him back. She refused! She says he's not going anywhere for more than 2 nights. She says I can have a few hours visitaion at her house..we're 400miles apart! I ultimatly want my son with me, where he belongs..but would be estatic to have visitation right now. I don't have the money to retain a lawyer to seek either. What can a not wealthy Christian mommy do th make things right w her son? My mother is causing a great deal of damage that will stay w my son through out his life. Someone please help my son and me!!
