H-D DVD's can you help?

i have just seen that they are releasing HD DVD's! Now do u need a hd dvd player to play these or just a HD tv im confused!!! i cant help it im naturally blonde! and a little tipsy might i add! and no im not on about this blue ray sting ray thunderbird thingy me bob!! answers on a postcard please! (ok a reply to get u 2 points will do, but please be helpfull and not just 2 point hags!!!)
